The online retailer is preparing to list its shares on the stock market in London and executive chairman Donald Tang met with Javid and other prominent business figures in recent weeks, according to Sky News.

A role could involve either a board position or a job as an adviser.

Headhunters are also considering Baroness Fairhead, who was previously the BBC Trust chair and boss of the Financial Times Group.

Javid served as chancellor between 2019 and 2020 and health secretary between 2021 and 2022.
