- More than $7 million of hacked crypto tokens were returned by hackers.
According to a blockchain analytics Peakshield, hackers of Safemoon agreed to return the majority of stolen funds. Earlier this week, exploiters wiped out $8.9 million from Safemoon’s liquidity pool.
On April 20, 2023, the analytic firm wrote in its Twitter post that the hackers had returned $7.2 million in two different transactions. In the first transaction, hackers returned tokens worth $3.4 million; in the second transaction, they transferred around $3.8 million.
SafeMoon wrote in its Twitter threat that” SafeMoon tokens from a wallet with the address 0xdaa3b5ae0521264e55f45157eb6e158e1f3e5012 will be used to pair the BNB into the SFM: BNB liquidity pool.”
The community offered to keep 20% of the stolen funds and return the remaining 80% to the community. After the hack project faced severe criticism, many accused it of rewarding criminal behavior and glossing over the hack.
According to CoinMarketCap native token of Safemoon was trading at $0.00000000672 with a 24-hour trading volume of $47. The total circulating supply of SAFEMOON is 561,976,478,485,284. It was established in 2021.
On the first day of 2023, SafeMoon announced through its Twitter account that it would launch its marketplace that will support ETH, SOL, BSC & Polygon.

On April 16, 2023, TheCoinRepublic reported that hackers targeted Hundred Finance and wiped out around $7 million from the Optimism layer-2 scaling solution.
Bitrue, a globally popular crypto exchange, was hacked by hackers on April 14, 2023. As per a Twitter post from the Biture team, hackers exploited one of the hot wallets and wiped out ETH, GALA, SHIB, HOT, QNT, and MATIC.
TerraPort, the recently launched DeFi(Decentralized Finance) liquidity pool, got hacked on April 10. According to the official Twitter handle of Terraport Finance, “a breach was detected in the Terraport Liquidity wallet on April 10 morning.”
A Terra Classic influencer and Terraport marketing team– Classy Crypto members confirmed the hack. The influencer said that the Terraport team should have considered the opinions of LUNCDAO on auditing before launching the platform.
