Remind's six figure sum to tackle trauma

Remind Health, developer of a dedicated trauma support mental health app, is raising fresh finance to fund its growth plans, founder Freya Hickman says.

She said that Remind has so far received commitments from angel investors, wealthy individuals who back start-ups and small business, for a third of the six-figure sum she is looking to raise. Hickman left her career in the City to set up Remind in 2020 in response to her own experience of dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder, which she developed after getting caught up in the 2017 terrorist attack at London Bridge.

Supporters of Islamic terror group ISIS murdered eight people and dozens more were injured.

Her app, re;mind, helps people suffering from trauma and PTSD by providing them with immediate support. It includes psychological tools to help users find relief from trauma effects when triggered, as well as track feelings, symptoms and triggers.

It also provides educational resources so that users can learn more about their conditions, helping them to reclaim some measure of control through understanding. The re:mind app can be used while waiting for, during and after professional support and is endorsed by the charity PTSD UK.
