Raining richest cats & dogs is no faux paw

Trust fund mutts and nepo kitties to new money pooches and felines – the list of the Richest Pets in the World is an eclectic mix of ’em all. Topping it is Gunther VI the German Shepherd, born with a silver bone in his mouth.

Belonging to a long lineage of upper-crust canines – his grandfather Gunther III inherited $80 million from German Countess Karlotta Leibenstein in 1992 – his $500 million fortune is a mix of ‘inheritance and investments’. On the other hand, Siamese-tabby cat-fluencer Nala The Cat and Pomeranian pup-fluencer Jiffpom worked their way up to No 2 and 5, with a worth of about $100 million and $25 million, respectively.

Scottish Fold kitty Olivia Benson may have gotten an easy leg up the showbiz ladder thanks to her famous parent, pop star Taylor Swift, but her appearances in several music videos, own merchandise line and ad cameos have all played a role in landing her No 3 spot, with an estimated worth of $97 million.

And while you may spoil your dogs with treats and an occasional chew toy, Sadie, Sunny, Lauren, Layla and Luke – No 4 on the list – have their own trust fund and a future big chunk of their mum Oprah Winfrey‘s jaidaad of $30 million, proving that be it the dog-eat-dog world or the human-eat-human one, there’s simply no capital like privilege.
