Plot

‘Presumed Innocent’ is based on Scott Turow’s 1987 novel. The story follows prosecutor Rusty Sabich, who is accused of murdering a colleague with whom he had an affair. The novel was previously adapted into a 1990 film starring Harrison Ford as Rusty. This new adaptation for Apple TV+ will premiere on June 12.

The series was ordered by Apple in early 2022. The cast includes Ruth Negga as Rusty’s wife and Peter Sarsgaard as the lead prosecutor. Other cast members are Bill Camp, O-T Fagbenle, Chase Infiniti, Elizabeth Marvel, Nana Mensah, Renate Reinsve and Kingston Rumi Southwick.

‘Presumed Innocent’ is produced by Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and David E. Kelley Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Executive producers include Abrams, Kelley, Rachel Rusch Rich, Matthew Tinker, Dustin Thomason, Sharr White, Jake Gyllenhaal, and directors Anne Sewitsky and Greg Yaitanes. Scott Turow and Miki Johnson are co-executive producers. Sewitsky directed the first two and the final episode, while Yaitanes directed episodes three through seven.
