Meet pebble flow, a remote-controlled electric travel trailer
Imagining an iPhone as a remote control for an electric travel trailer is no longer just a vision but an underway production with the unveiling of Pebble Flow. Hailing from the California-based startup Pebble, the flagship product will have its physical debut at the LA Auto Show in November 2023 and is expected to ship by the end of 2024. Before its global real-life model debut, Pebble Flow has already been introduced as a smart electric travel trailer that takes iPhone functionality to new heights by turning the device into its remote control.
iPhone users just need to download Pebble Flow’s dedicated app (an Android app is currently being developed). As soon as they do, they will be able to tow the electric travel trailer, ask the vehicle to position and hitch itself onto the towing ride, command it to deploy or retract an awning, stairs, lights, and auto-leveling stabilizers to set up camp or get back on the road in seconds, and instruct it to park itself into tight spots and spaces. Pebble says no manual is required. Users just need to click buttons on the app, and the electric travel trailer shall follow.

Solar panels and regenerative charging for off-grid power
Aside from its smart technologies on board, Pebble Flow is expected to be equipped with a dual-motor Active Propulsion Assist System, meaning the electric travel trailer can propel itself without the help of another automobile or anyone. Since it is an electric ride, the Pebble Flow is claimed to come with a battery that will have enough capacity to power all of the trailer’s appliances, and a universal AC/DC charging setup, so travelers can plug it in at public charging stations, home, or camp.
Its solar panels also refuel the electric travel trailer’s off-grid power, and Pebble Flow will also come with regenerative charging so that when travelers tow it, it produces its own electricity for its engine. Pebble says that because of the back-to-back power sources of the electric travel trailer, it is never idle in the sense that it can also be used as an emergency backup generator at home when parked. The Pebble Flow is also self-propelled and can provide the right amount of power required to assist the tow vehicle.

Inside the iphone-controlled and self-moving RV
Pebble keeps minimalists in mind for the modular interior design of Pebble Flow. Inside the electric travel trailer, a sleeping capacity of up to four people is featured alongside flexible furnishings that can be retracted and transform the entire room into a workspace for nomadic remote working. For its kitchen, there will be a removable induction cooktop, a 4-in-1 convection microwave, and a full-size fridge. The flip-up service window, alongside its 270-degree view, gives flexibility to cook inside or al fresco.
Pebble eyes a starting price of $109,000 for the classic model while the Magic Pack is expected to be available starting at $125,000. The Magic Pack includes a dual-motor drivetrain and bundles a set of world-first features, including Remote Control, Magic Hitch, Easy Tow, and more. ‘The Pebble Flow embodies a new era in RVing. We’re embracing advancements in electrification and automotive technology to streamline the end-to-end experience and take away all of the hassles of RVing to help more nature lovers achieve a freer, lighter lifestyle,’ says Bingrui Yang, the Founder and CEO of Pebble.
