Panel convenes Sept. 19 with national security experts – New Hampshire Business Review


Plus, a public meeting for veterans and community members about the PACT Act on Sept. 26

Tomorrow, U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan, D-NH, and Senator Mitt Romney, R-UT, will lead a bipartisan hearing to examine how advanced technologies — such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing and bioengineering — may pose risks to national security. The panel will include national security experts who will discuss how Congress and the private sector can work together to mitigate potential threats from emerging technologies.

Pact Act Town Hall 

Additionally, on September 26, Senator Hassan will host a town hall to raise awareness about the PACT Act and answer questions from veterans and other community members. Senator Hassan will also highlight the PACT Act’s upcoming September 30th open enrollment deadline for post-9/11 combat veterans who were discharged more than 10 years ago and who are not currently enrolled in VA health care.

In addition to Senator Hassan, the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Steve Miska will join the town hall. He leads the VA’s implementation of the PACT Act. Leadership from the Manchester VAMC and Veterans Benefits Administration regional office will also participate.
