More lucky Britons are waking up richer this morning as the latest results from the Premium Bonds prize draw have been released. The savings option continues to be popular with those who are looking to win big and have some cash to put aside in a 100 percent secure account.
The next millionaire comes from Croydon, and their winning number is 503VL397852.
They first purchased the Bond, worth £24,580, only a few months ago in June 2022 – so it hasn’t taken them long to strike it lucky.
Their total holding is £25,000 – only slightly more than the value of their winning Bond.
Many more Britons from right across the country clinched the top prizes, with over 60 people winning £100,000.
NS&I pays nine in 10 prizes straight to customers’ bank accounts or by investing into more Bonds.
However, some will still receive winnings in the old way – via cheque.
The Government-backed savings organisation is now encouraging people to make the switch.
It has described transfers as “quicker, easier, safer and greener”.
Changing how one receives their prizes is meant to be a straightforward process all savers can look into.
If they are already registered online, they can log into their account using their NS&I number and password.
Then, they can visit ‘Your profile’ and select ‘Your prize options’ to choose how they’d like to be paid.
If someone prefers to use the phone, they can call NS&I to change their prize options.
April 2023’s prize fund was worth some £331million according to NS&I.
The number of prizes paid out this month has exceeded five million.
