NSE removes 5 Adani Group stocks from Nifty Alpha 50, Nifty100 Alpha 30 indices


The National Stock Exchange has removed 4 Adani Group stocks from the Nifty Alpha 50 index with effect from March 31.

These are Adani Enterprises, Adani Green Energy, Adani Transmission, and Adani Total Gas, according to the release by NSE Indices.

Besides the Nifty Alpha 50 index, these 4 stocks, along with Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone will also be removed from the Nifty100 Alpha 30 index.

Apart from the Adani stocks, 10 others, including Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, Angel One, Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers, Page Industries, and Suzlon Energy have been excluded from the Nifty Alpha 50 index.

In place of the 14 excluded stocks, Aditya Birla Capital, Apollo Tyres, Bank of India, BHEL, Britannia Industries, IDFC First Bank, Jindal Steel & Power, L&T Finance Holdings, M&M Financial Services, MRF, Power Finance Corporation, Punjab National Bank, Siemens, and Zydus Lifesciences have been included in the index.

Changes have also been made to the Nifty High Beta 50 index, wherein 5 stocks have been excluded and as many included. While Vodafone Idea, Grasim Industries and Tata Chemicals are the ones excluded, Adani Total Gas, Adani Transmission, and JSW Energy are among the included ones.

Similarly, in the Nifty Low Volatility 50 index, 4 have been excluded and 4 included. ACC and Ambuja Cements will move out of the index, while Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank will enter the index. Apart from this, few other strategy indices have also seen rejigs.
