The UIDAI has noticed that, in some cases, residents were unsure or unaware of which of their mobile phones was linked to their Aadhaar, according to a press release on the PIB website. Residents were concerned that the Aadhaar OTP would be sent to another mobile number as a result. Now, the residents can simply check things now thanks to this facility, it said.
Here is how to ‘Verify email/mobile Number’
Visit the official website (https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/), under the ‘Verify Email/Mobile Number’ feature, or via the mAadhaar App, the service is accessible.
Enter your aadhaar, mobile number, and captcha code and click on send OTP. The resident receives confirmation from this feature that the email or cellphone number in his or her possession is solely seeded to the appropriate Aadhaar. Additionally, it alerts the resident if a specific mobile number is not linked and advises them to take the necessary actions to update the mobile number, if they choose to do so.
It was created so that locals could confirm that their personal email or mobile number was seeded with the appropriate Aadhaar. The final three digits of the mobile number can be checked using the Verify Aadhaar feature on the MyAadhaar portal or mAadhaar App if a person cannot recall the mobile number they provided during enrollment, stated the PIB release.A citizen may go to the nearest Aadhaar centre to link their email or mobile number to their Aadhaar or to amend their email or mobile number.
