'Not the odds, but the stakes,' risk-worthy?



For supporters of a side/candidate, odds and stakes should ideally be positively correlated. That, of course, isn’t always the case. Thus, the effort prior to Election Day is to make odds and stakes come as close together as possible. So, in this binary strategy – not just in media coverage, but also in political and voting – play up the dangers of losing rather than your chap’s strengths, if they exist.
