Norton launches browser for Windows and Mac with added security and privacy – Tech Guide

Leading Internet security company Norton has launched an advanced new web browser that’s built with security and privacy in mind that can be personalised to suit your needs.

Norton Secure Browser, available for Windows and Mac, has been built with the company’s best security and privacy tools.

Norton blocked more than 180 million web related threats globally between April and June this year.

That’s the equivalent of two million attacks a day or more attacks in 90 days then there are people in the United Kingdom and Germany combined.
“Cybercriminals are becoming more creative in their pursuits to attack people this year, and advertisers are more eager than ever to capture as many interactions as possible to profile people and target them with ads and content,” said Ben Wadors, Director of Browser and Search at Gen.

“Norton Secure Browser helps tackle both problems. We’ve built in some of our best technology and innovation to help protect people from new and persistent web-based threats and made it easy for them to choose what they share with advertisers, all from a centralised security and privacy dashboard you can customise in seconds.

“There’s no frustration finding the right menu options or features to turn on. You can now control your online safety with a few clicks and search, shop and communicate with peace of mind.”

The browser has a Security and Privacy Centre so you can easily manage your settings in a simple easy-to-navigate dashboard.

Also on board is a privacy guard which can block ads and improve your browsing experience.

Also integrated within the browser is Norton Safe Search which is a search engine that can flag any potentially dangerous results.
