Nigel Farage makes huge £2m inheritance tax promise in Reform manifesto

Nigel Farage has set out a number of bombshell tax policies as he unveiled Reform UK’s highly anticipated manifesto today.

Calling it a “contract” to the British public, the party leader outlined that they would increase the threshold for inheritance tax to £2 million.

Mr Farage also confirmed that Reform would increase the threshold at which people start paying income tax to £20,000 as part of a simplification of the tax system.

He said raising the threshold would be a “good thing for those on low pay” and a “good thing for many pensioners”.

He also said it would act as an incentive to get more people back into work.

Other policies included in the contract include scrapping energy levies and Net Zero as well as unlocking Britain’s vast oil and gas reserves to beat the cost of living crisis and unleash real economic growth.

Another of Reform UK’s key pledges is to Freeze “non-essential” immigration to “boost wages, protect public services, end the housing crisis and cut crime.”

The party also promises to detain and deport migrants arriving “in small boats” and “send them back to France.

The next key pledge is to reduce NHS waiting lists as the party argues that “healthcare needs reform to improve outcomes and enjoy zero NHS waiting lists”.

Reform said it plans to cut back office waste “to spend more money on the frontlines” and give tax breaks to doctors and nurses in an effort to “tackle the staffing crisis”.
