A 63-year-old farmer was trampled to death by an elephant at Adiyanadoor in Somwarpet on Friday.
He had been to his farmland in search of a cow. While returning, an elephant that strayed from the forest attacked him near Gowrigadde.
The forest officials have rushed to the spot.

Kadaba police arrested three persons on the charges of poaching wild animals in Karnataka
When the police were patrolling, they noticed a vehicle at Kunthoor Padavu in Kadaba. On the basis of suspicion, they intercepted a car and found one mouse deer, three palm civet and a porcupine that they had hunted using a gun. During the interrogation, they revealed that they had poached wild animals. The arrested are Binu Chaco from Nelyadi, Naveen from Kaukradi and Dinesh from Kaukradi.
The police have recovered wild animals, rifle, live rounds, torch light and the vehicle. A case has been booked under Section 25, 27 of
Indian Arms Act-1959 and Section 51 of Wild Life (Protection) Act-1972
