Once the train will be formally launched, it will be the third Vande Bharat Express for Telangana. A formal announcement in this regard may come soon.
The South Central Railway official had earlier announced in January that the semi-high-speed express train will travel between Bengaluru and Kacheguda in Hyderabad, covering a distance of nearly 570 kilometres.
According to some reports, the BJP functionaries in Karnataka have already started mentioning this Vande Bharart express in their poll campaigns.
This news comes on the heels of the newly inaugurated Vande Bharat train between Secunderabad and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. This express train will cover nearly 660 kilometres between the two cities over eight hours, thirty minutes, which is three hours faster than before.
Hyderabad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat trains will be a significant step as it connects two major tech hubs in India.
Another VB express is also operational from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh since January this year. The redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station, at a cost of Rs 720 crore, will involve a major makeover with world-class amenities and an aesthetically designed iconic station building, citing the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The redeveloped station would have a double-level spacious roof plaza with all passenger amenities in one place along with multimodal connectivity for providing seamless transfer of passengers from rail to other modes among others, read a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
He flagged off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express from the Secunderabad Railway Station on Saturday.
The Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express, connecting IT City, Hyderabad with the Abode of Lord Venkateswara, Tirupati, is the second Vande Bharat train to be started from Telangana within a short span of three months. The train will reduce the travel time between the two cities by almost three-and-a-half hours and will be particularly beneficial for passengers on pilgrimage.
During the programme, Prime Minister Modi will flag off 13 new Multi-Modal Transport Service (MMTS) services in the suburban section of the Hyderabad-Secunderabad twin city region, providing commuters with a fast, convenient and comfortable commuting option.
