The pertinently named “White Collection fetched £24m from RM Sotheby’s in Houston, Texas.

The sale featured 56 models all painted in the colour – and all from the same owner.

The auction’s main attraction was the 2015 Porsche 918 ‘Weissach’ Spyder, selling for £3.15m – nearly £800,000 over its expected price.

The auctioneers explained the vehicles represent “over a decade of dedicated collecting by one perfection-focused owner”.

Other eye-catching motors included the 1997 Porsche 911 GT2.

The vehicle, complete with a gorgeous shade of Glacier White over extended black leather upholstery for £1.9m.

Car enthusiasts were also drawn to the auction’s 2016 Porsche 911 R, which went under the hammer for £880k.

And a 2019 Porsche 911 GT2 RS ‘Weissach’, sold for £805k.

All motors sold for well over their pre-auction estimates.

Gord Duff, RM Sotheby’s Global Head of Auctions, said: “The White Collection sale captured the world’s attention with its exclusive Porsches and memorabilia, curated with a level of detail and perfection we rarely see.

“We always knew these cars would do well, but the results were incredible, indicating market robustness.

“Late-model sports cars, especially Porsches, are in high demand, with record-breaking sales like the 918 Spyder, which doubled its previous record.

“The prices realised set benchmarks that will follow these cars and similar models for life.

“Its reveal was a landmark event, and now, these iconic cars are cherished worldwide, marking a special moment for us and Porsche enthusiasts.”.

It comes as a video uploaded to Instagram has revealed a beautiful car collection owned by a mystery collector.

Featured on the channel of Davide Cesaro (@dadocesaro) the collection is garaged in what looks like the wing of a large house in Italy.

The video starts with a classic 1960s white Lamborghini Miura which can sell for as much as £2million.

Another white Lambo shown is a very rare LM002 SUV made in the 80s and 90s, which can fetch as much as £500,000 these days.

If that wasn’t enough white Lambo, the collector also has the iconic Countach supercar produced between the 70s and 90s, worth £100,000s.
