One thing Brits love more than a bargain is a trip to their local bakery giant.

The cheap and cheerful chain offer fresh pastries for breakfast and lunch as well as sweet snacks and cold and hot drinks.

And to put even more of smile of the nation’s faces, they are now offering freebies to all customers.

Taking to TikTok, the money saving expert @duchessofthrift revealed how if you simply download the Greggs app, you can get a free slice of pizza and a hot drink as a thank you.

But the treats don’t stop there.

Whenever your birthday rolls around, you can also pick up a free sweet snack by showing your app in store and proving you’re one year older.

And if you’re super fan, the app will collect points each time you buy something.

For every tenth point you get, you can get an item for free.

In the clip the creator said: “Who doesn’t love a freebie? Good old Greggs are at it again.

“[All you do] is download the app you get the reward in your app and just take it in the shop and you get your freebie.

“I bloody love it. I love free stuff.”

The free slices of pizza to new customers are available between now and October 16.

Foodies can choose from margherita, pepperoni, spicy Mexican chicken, pepperoni hot shot or spicy veg, which normally cost up to £2.65.

This is just based on one branch’s prices though – you may pay more or less for a slice depending on where you live.

It comes after Greggs launched its new autumn menu across 2,000 stores, including the ever-popular pumpkin spice latte.

For the first time ever, fans can grab a cheese and honey mustard toastie and veg bhaji flatbread alongside a host of other newbies.

Foodies can even pick up mozzarella and cheddar bites, just weeks after Maccie’s axed its own version.

Prices for the pumpkin spice latte start at £2.40, £1.80 cheaper than Starbucks’ version.
