Multistakeholder initiative, FIST, launched to make the internet more open, accessible and safe

A multistakeholder initiative to make the internet more open, accessible, transparent, safe, and secure has been launched under the name FIST or Framework for Integrity, Security and Trust. The initiative is a collaboration between industry and nonprofits like InMobi, CyberPeace, USI, and NIHIT.

According to a statement, FIST was launched at the recently held Global CyberPeace Summit to make the internet more open, accessible, transparent, safe, and secure. Their unified vision and aim is to enable changes in the digital realm, ensuring that cyberspace evolves in a way that’s inclusive and resilient from cyber-attacks and cyber harms.

During the inauguration and launch of the initiative, Subi Chaturvedi, Global SVP, Chief Corporate Affairs, and Public Policy Officer, InMobi, said that FIST was a representation of strength in unity and a coming together of the global south as the new leader of innovation, standards, and global policies to keep the internet safe, open and interoperable. “It’s a movement to ensure that everybody, everywhere can benefit from innovation in an environment that is safe, secure, and has trust built in by design. With a forward-looking global alliance, everyone is welcome,” Chaturvedi said in a statement.

CyberPeace, in collaboration with the C20, G20 India, and the United Service Institution of India as the Knowledge Partner, and with CP-USI CoE rolled out the inaugural CyberPeace Summit. The Delhi Declaration and CyberPeace Protocol were unveiled during the Summit by the former NCSC Rajesh Pant.

So, right from the endpoint, the identity and access management to the network security to data security to cloud and to applications, everything will have to be catered for,” said Pant. The summit debated on pressing problems such as internet governance and cyber policy dialogue, anticipating and addressing tomorrow’s cyber challenges while evolving with technological threats and promoting inclusivity and equity in the digital realm for a truly universal digital community.”The Global CyberPeace Summit showcases our unwavering commitment to fostering collaboration, resilience, and unity in the ever-evolving cyberspace landscape. As we join forces with cyber stakeholders from around the world, we are not just envisioning the future – we are shaping it. The Delhi Declaration and CyberPeace Protocol mark a pivotal stride toward a secure and all-encompassing cyberspace,” said Vineet Kumar, Founder of CyberPeace.Commenting on the summit, BK Sharma- Director, USI said, “In an era where the boundaries of the digital and physical worlds blur, the Global CyberPeace Summit, has emerged as a beacon of hope, illuminating the path towards a harmonious and secure digital future for everyone.”
