Mukesh Ambani-backed Altigreen launches commercial 3-wheeler with rapid charging



Altigreen on Thursday launhced its all-new neEV Tez – an electric 3-wheeler. The commercial vehicle manufacturer’s neEV Tez features 3-in-one charging that lets the user choose between normal, fast and rapid charging options. neEV Tez charges from 0 to 100% in 15 minutes on Exponent’s rapid charging network and; or takes a mere 1 hour at any Bharat DCOO1 charging station; or and 3.5 hours of charging with the 220V/16 A AC Socket. The vehicle comes with a 5-year standard warranty.

The company said it is the world’s fastest charging 3-wheeler. Debashis Mitra, Director Sales, Service and Marketing, Altigreen, said, “We are thrilled to unveil newEVTez – a groundbreaking addition to Altigreen’s electric vehicle lineup. newEV Tez, features the world’s best rapid charging capabilities powered by Exponent Energy, and represents our unwavering committment to service customers’ needs pushing the boundaries of innovative technology in electric mobility.”

The company also said that neEV Tez has been designed to meet the growing demands of the last mile delivery and offer convenience to vehicle owners with flexible charging options, i.e en-route charging via DC network, Home Charging via 16 Amp and rapid charging via Exponent’s e^pump rapid charging network.

The company shared that the current offerings in the market are primarily with slow 406 hour charging and some with fast charging. The company said that it is the only OEM in the industry to offer 3-in-one charging options.

Founded in 2013, Altigreen designs and manufactures electric cargo three-wheelers and has an annual production capacity of 55,000 vehicles, according to its website. The firm raised around Rs 300 crore in a series A round last year that was led by Sixth Sense Ventures. Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance New Energy Ltd, Xponentia Capital Partners, Momentum Venture Capital and Accurant International also participated.
