Mission Monday: Security Forces Intelligence Analysis – afimsc.af.mil

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas
– It’s Mission Monday. Meet Master Sgt. Nicole Moeller, intelligence analysis manager at the Air Force Security Forces Center.

Moeller and her team are responsible for providing intelligence support to the security forces enterprise.

“We support the broader enterprise and more than 40,000 Defenders, including the only security force pre-deployment regional training center, Desert Defender,” Moeller said.

We asked her to tell us a little more about her work for AFIMSC and the Department of the Air Force.

What do you love about your job?

That I get to help influence decisions commanders make in regard to operations.

When it comes to your job, what keeps you motivated?

My biggest motivation is helping younger noncommissioned officers and Airmen become the best they can be and passing on the knowledge I’ve accumulated over the last 18.5 years in uniform. Short answer: the Airmen and supporting them keeps me motivated.

Why are you and your team important to the Air Force and Space Force enterprise/your customers?

Our team helps influence future tactics based off threat information for the security forces enterprise. We also help current deployers with timely threat information.

Describe a project or event you and your team worked on recently that gave you a great sense of accomplishment:

We have built briefs for two security forces units at Lackland; one an operational unit and one a training unit. The briefs explained the National Defense Strategy and threats to future operations that security forces may encounter in agile combat employment operations.

How does what you do support AFIMSC’s strategic priorities?

Our team is responsible for providing threat data and tying that data to DAF, Air Force Materiel Command and Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center strategic priorities. We explain why these threats pose a danger to operations so tacticians and operators are informed of these dangers and can adjust training to deliver the most lethal fighting force possible against these threats.
