Mexico shares lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 1.01%



Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the fell 1.01%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:), which rose 3.82% or 0.85 points to trade at 23.10 at the close. Regional SAB de CV (BMV:) added 3.08% or 3.82 points to end at 128.00 and Becle SA (BMV:) was up 2.95% or 0.89 points to 31.07 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:), which lost 4.76% or 0.59 points to trade at 11.80 in late trade. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:) declined 4.46% or 0.46 points to end at 9.85 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) shed 3.78% or 4.66 points to 118.72.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 142 to 68 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 6.20 to $2,675.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 5.15% or 3.61 to hit $73.71 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.27 to trade at $77.88 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.10% to 19.36, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.00% to 21.36.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 101.71.
