Mexico shares higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.33%



Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the rose 0.33%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:), which rose 5.04% or 0.54 points to trade at 11.22 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:) added 2.91% or 8.99 points to end at 317.10 and GCC SAB de CV (BMV:) was up 2.76% or 4.12 points to 153.70 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:), which lost 2.09% or 0.99 points to trade at 46.59 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) declined 1.09% or 0.13 points to end at 11.86 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) shed 1.01% or 1.77 points to 174.33.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 116 to 106 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.27% or 32.00 to $2,548.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.67% or 1.95 to hit $74.96 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.28% or 1.76 to trade at $78.98 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 2.09% to 19.11, while EUR/MXN fell 1.38% to 21.39.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.82% at 100.57.
