Mexico shares higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.03%



Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the gained 0.03%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:), which rose 3.16% or 7.63 points to trade at 249.15 at the close. Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:) added 3.01% or 1.35 points to end at 46.21 and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:) was up 2.44% or 3.81 points to 159.76 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:), which lost 4.17% or 7.77 points to trade at 178.51 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:) declined 2.88% or 1.33 points to end at 44.86 and Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:) shed 2.76% or 0.62 points to 21.85.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 124 to 85 and 19 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.99% or 25.60 to $2,606.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.39% or 0.27 to hit $69.24 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.13% or 0.09 to trade at $72.06 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 1.53% to 19.21, while EUR/MXN fell 1.69% to 21.28.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 101.11.
