Mexico shares higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.01%



Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:), which rose 3.78% or 1.61 points to trade at 44.21 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) added 3.61% or 3.93 points to end at 112.77 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) was up 2.15% or 1.39 points to 65.95 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:), which lost 3.22% or 0.68 points to trade at 20.47 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:) declined 2.80% or 9.59 points to end at 333.08 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:) shed 2.10% or 3.53 points to 164.25.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 98 and 19 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.32% or 34.90 to $2,674.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.47% or 0.36 to hit $75.49 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.68% or 0.54 to trade at $78.86 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.89% to 19.28, while EUR/MXN fell 1.13% to 21.09.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 102.72.
