Mardi Gras on the Sabine in Orange brought a festive kick-off to a week of activities with many of the area’s krewes turning out for the first celebration in the region. The celebration started with family events, including the annual Munchkin Parade, and ended with the Krewe of Krewes parade through the heart of the city.
Next week, the Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas takes the reigns on the celebration starting with the Courir de Mardi Gras parade on Thursday, when Beaumont City Manager Kenneth Williams will toss the chicken. Festivities continue with parades, music, food and more through Sunday.
