1. Security Partnership: Doosan Digital Innovation has partnered with Phosphorus to strengthen its operational technology (OT) security ecosystem and provide OT security solutions to Korean enterprises. Phosphorus is a global extended Internet of Things (xIoT) cybersecurity company providing unified security management and breach prevention for cyber-physical systems across all major industries. Doosan is a specialist in digital transformation, providing solutions that encompass IT services, application development and operation, platform and IT infrastructure construction and operations.

2. Securing the Texas Rangers’ World Series Win: Before the Texas Rangers celebrated their World Series win, the Major League Baseball team tapped Lumen Technologies for on-demand distributed denial of service (DDoS) to help ensure their critical infrastructure, stadium Wi-Fi and fan experience remained uninterrupted from cyberattacks. “Lumen DDoS Hyper was instrumental in providing rapid, effective protection against complex cyberattacks, providing a seamless experience for our team and fans,” said Mike Bullock, senior vice president of Information Technology for the Texas Rangers.

3. Industry Recognition: CompTIA, an information technology (IT) certification and training body organization, has been inducted into the National Cyber Security Hall of Fame for its efforts to help people unlock their potential and build the confidence to work in tech and cybersecurity. The National Cyber Security Hall of Fame cited CompTIA’s industry-leading certification program for its widespread, positive impact on the tech industry, tech workforce and cybersecurity profession. IT professionals from around the world have collectively earned more than 3.1 million CompTIA certifications, including 800,000 in cybersecurity-related disciplines, the organization said.

4. Security Partnership: CodeLock, a software supply chain security solutions provider, and Carahsoft Technology Corp., a government IT solutions provider, have announced a partnership. Carahsoft will serve as CodeLock’s Master Government Aggregator, making the company’s compliance, accountability and security solutions available to the public sector.

5. Leadership Move: Proofpoint, a cybersecurity and compliance provider, announced that Sumit Dhawan has been appointed chief executive officer. Rémi Thomas, Proofpoint’s chief financial officer, who has been acting as Proofpoint’s interim CEO since October 25, will continue to serve as the company’s CFO.

6. Israel Cyberattack: Phone lines for essential services in Israel, such as Magen David Adom (MDA), police, Hatzalah, and the Fire Department, were down for over an hour amid a malfunction initially feared to be a potential cyberattack. The Bezeq Electric company stated that a malfunction occurred in all Bezeq lines. Police, Hatzalah, MDA and Fire Department hotlines were operational after the initial pause. 7. Ransomware Attack Hits Hospitals: Two New Jersey hospitals were turning away new patients after a ransomware attack potentially compromised patient information. The cyberattack impacted hospitals under the Ardent Health Services umbrella, namely New Jersey’s Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair and Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood. 8. Cyberattack on Healthcare Company: U.S. healthcare company Henry Schein has reported a second cyberattack this month by the BlackCat/ALPHV ransomware gang, who also breached their network in October.
