Professor Stefano Moretti has made around £1,500 in cashback savings over the years by claiming cashback which he has put towards other holidays and purchases.
As the cost-of-living crisis continues, many families will be looking for ways to make the most out of their money.
By making use of various cashback websites, apps and cards, Britons can make “money for doing nothing” through rewards, and thousands of pounds back just by using these different tools when they spend.
Stefano regularly uses TopCashback and keeps an eye on the best cashback rates to save as much on his online purchases as possible by using the browser extension and app.
He told Express.co.uk: “I have used TopCashback for many years and it’s made me plenty of cashback savings over that time!
“I’ve made around £1,500 in cashback savings over the years of being a member of TopCashback which I’ve put towards other holidays and purchases.
“The browser extension flags up if there are deals available. If I visit a website with cashback offers, it will pop up in the right-hand corner and notify me of the discounts available.
“It really helps me to make sure I never miss a good offer and save as much as possible.”
Stefano managed to save almost £100 in cashback on his three-week trip to Basilicata, including £45 on accommodation with Booking.com, £17 on car hire from Holiday Autos, £20 on car and travel insurance plus £12 on flights and coaches.
He said: “It was brilliant to save that much. It really felt like money for nothing. It takes a couple of minutes to set up and is so easy to make brilliant savings every day.”
The TopCashback data reveals the average savings members made, including £41 on accommodation by using sites like Booking.com and Hotels.com, £30 on car rental with Holiday Extras and Europcar and £21 on travel comparison sites like Expedia and Agoda.
On average, customers also saved £13 on forex transactions, £12 on transfers and airport parking and £10 on travel insurance purchases.
Adam Bullock, UK Director at TopCashback, said: “We know people have had to scale back on holidays this year, so whether you’re planning a UK break, or jetting off abroad, using cashback sites can help you recoup some of the money you spend when booking a holiday – whether that’s on the hotel, travel or insurance.
“With our latest analysis showing that Britons can save up to £150 on the cost of their holidays if you’re yet to book or organise some elements of your summer getaway, we’d urge you to look at cashback to make extra savings to make your money go further.
“To make sure you don’t miss out on great deals, make sure to download a browser extension to automatically notify you of any cashback available when you are browsing online.”
