Man arrested in fatal weekend shooting in Chino – The Press-Enterprise


A Chino man was arrested Monday, April 3 on suspicion of killing a man in a shooting in Chino, police said.

At around 2:07 a.m. on Sunday, April 2, Chino Police Department officers responded to the 5400 block of Philadelphia Avenue regarding a possible dead body. The officers found a male victim in a parking lot who had been shot.

At the scene of the shooting, the victim was pronounced dead as a result of a homicide, according to a Chino PD news release.

The victim was later identified as Philip Hernandez, a 51-year-old resident of Chino.

Detectives investigated and identified Taylor Sanchez, 21, as a suspect in the shooting.

Detectives found Sanchez in the 13300 block of Central Avenue and arrested him.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances and motive for the shooting, police said Wednesday.

Sanchez was book on suspicion of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
