Man arrested for breaking into cars downtown – Port City Daily

WILMINGTON — Officers arrested a man for breaking into vehicles downtown after a concerned resident witnessed the crimes.

Shortly after 6:30 a.m., a Wilmington Police Department sergeant was flagged down by an individual, who had seen a man breaking into cars in the 200 block of Red Cross Street.

The witnesses gave an adequate description of the man, which allowed the WPD to locate the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Kevin Lamar Scott. Upon investigation, additional victims were identified, and Scott was placed under arrest for felony breaking and entering to a vehicle and larceny.

He was placed under a $10,000 secured bond.
