Madonna's Celebration Tour to start after summer health scare landed her in ICU

At 65 years old, Madonna has been rehearsing tirelessly for a week in Manchester’s AO Arena ahead of her debut at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday, October 14.

The Queen of Pop’s creative director, Stuart Price, teased fans in a BBC interview by saying that Madonna “looks incredible, sounds incredible, [and] performs incredible”.

Millions of fans across the world will be delighted Madonna is back in action after a serious bacterial infection landed her in hospital.

“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children,” Madonna posted to Instagram, suggesting that she had fallen unconscious.

On July 10, 2023, Madonna posted: “My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour.”

Now going ahead, fans can expect a variety of songs from Madonna’s 40-year back catalogue of musical hits.

Sharing her gratitude to her followers, Madonna thanked them for their “positive energy” while she was in recovery.

“I have felt your love,” she wrote, adding: “I’m incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life.”

Not too long ago, Madonna had to undergo regenerative treatment after experiencing extreme pain due to knee surgery, The Sun reported.

During her all-theater Madame X Tour, between September 2019 to March 2020, Madonna was suffering.

“Finally going to get my regenerative treatment for my missing cartilage!” Madonna shared on her social media at the time.

“I would be jumping up and down if I could after eight months of being in pain! Wish me luck!”

Known as a mosaicplasty, says Johns Hopkins Medicine, the procedure involves taking healthy cartilage from non-weight-bearing areas of the joint and transplanting them into the damaged areas.

A mosaicplasty helps patients with chronic knee pain get back to the activities they enjoy, which, for Madonna, is touring.

Madonna has also battled Covid during the height of the global pandemic in 2020.

The musician described her symptoms at the time as a “very bad flu”, which she made a full recovery from.

Covid is circulating more fervently again, however, this is to be expected as the UK heads into the winter months, which is when Madonna will be back at the 02 Arena on December 5.
