Lonzo Ball contract details with Chicago Bulls: Know salary, duration

During the 2020 offseason, the Chicago Bulls sought out Lonzo Ball, recognizing him as one of the top point guards in the league. Unfortunately, Ball‘s development has been hampered by a string of injuries.

Ball departed from the New Orleans Pelicans in the summer of 2020 to become a member of the Chicago Bulls, after signing a sign-and-trade agreement worth $85 million over a span of four years. He is currently in the second season of his contract and will make more than $19 million. If he decides to exercise his player option, he could earn as much as $21.3 million in the final year of his agreement.

After the completion of his current agreement, Ball will become an unrestricted free agent, granting him the freedom to sign with any team he desires. As per Spotrac, Ball’s contract is set to expire during the 2024-25 season.

Ball has played a meager 35 games in two seasons thus far, and has yet to play any games in the ongoing 2022-23 season due to a severe knee injury. The Bulls have struggled in his absence and are unlikely to make the playoffs.

It would indeed be disheartening to witness a player of Ball’s caliber conclude his NBA career due to a series of injuries. Nevertheless, one can only hope that the point guard is granted an opportunity to continue his career, even if it means waiting for a few years.

Throughout his five-year stint, Ball has maintained an average of 11.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists.
