UK strikes: Junior doctors, Amazon workers and more than 70,000 university staff begin three days of industrial action over pay, pensions and working conditions. More than 100,000 civil servants, including Border Force and DVLA staff, will also walk out over pay. London Underground train drivers are to stage a 24-hour strike. Netherlands: The country holds elections for the councils of its 12 provinces.

Economic data: Eurostat releases eurozone industrial production figures for January. France releases its final February consumer price index, which is a measure of inflation. Germany posts its latest monthly industrial production figures.

Earnings: Insurer Prudential, energy company Eon, landscape product manufacturer Marshalls and UK’s construction group Balfour Beatty publish their annual results. Zara owner Inditex also releases full-year numbers, while H&M posts a sales update. BMW hosts its annual conference.
