Latest Aadhaar updation and other services charges 2023


The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has issued a circular notifying the maximum payments that can be collected from residents for the services on updating and other services offered by Registrars or other service providers, as well as assistance to registrars for Aadhaar generation and required biometric update on attaining age 5 and 15.

If your Aadhaar was issued more than 10 years ago and had never been updated, UIDAI had earlier in March urged such residents to upload and update proof of identity and proof of address papers online at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. This would be free of cost from March 15 to June 14, 2023.

According to the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) circular dated April 20, 2023, “In continuation to the revision in MBU Policy and introduction of provision for Home Enrolment Service, the rate of assistance to Registrars and fees applicable to residents issued vide OM No. HQ16033/1/2020-EU-I-HQ-Part(2) (E-8026) dated 18.10.2022 stands revised as follows:

Home Enrolment Service

* The service charges for Home Enrolment Service will be charged in addition to the normal fee applicable for demographic /biometric update in Aadhaar.
* If the service is availed by more than one resident at the same address (as per Aadhaar), Rs 700/- service charge (including GST) will be charged for first resident and @ Rs 350/- (including GST) for each additional resident.

Aadhaar issued 10 years ago
If Aadhaar was issued more than 10 years ago and was never updated, the UIDAI has been advising citizens to submit Proof of Identity and Proof of Address (PoI/PoA) documents to revalidate their demographic information. As a result, services will be provided better and authentication will be more successful.

How to change Name, Date of Birth, Address
Step 1: Login on https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ using their Aadhaar number. Enter One Time Password (OTP) sent to registered mobile number.
Step 2: Click on ‘Document Update’ and the existing details of resident will be displayed.
Step 3: Verify the details, if found correct, click on the next hyper-link.
Step 4: Choose Proof of Identity and Proof of Address document from the dropdown list
Step 5: Upload the copies of the same to update his/her documents.
