Last Christmas order dates for 2023 – how to make sure you get your deliveries in time as deadlines are extended


CHRISTMAS is just two weeks away, and if you’re not keen on crowds, you may not fancy visiting the shops in person to pick up presents.

So if you prefer buying gifts online, there’s not long left for you to get your orders in and guarantee delivery before the big day.

Some retailers have extended their cut-off even further this year in a bid to keep up with shops offering deliveries right up until Christmas Eve.

Marks and Spencer and Amazon are among the shops now allowing customers to order up until December 23 for Christmas delivery.

We’ve rounded up some of the most popular stores to compare cut-off dates for guaranteed Christmas delivery.

We’ve also included postage costs for fast track shipping, but it’s best to get your gifts in advance to avoid hefty fees.

Amazon

Good news for last-minute shoppers – Amazon will be taking same day deliveries right up until the morning of Christmas Eve. 

The online retailer will also be offering next day deliveries up to Saturday, December 23 in the evening, meaning your items will arrive the day before Christmas.

Both same day and next day delivery is free for Amazon Prime members, but those without Prime will have to pay between £3.99 and £4.99 for next day delivery or £5.99 for same day.

The last date to order for standard delivery with Amazon for on-Prime members is Tuesday, December 19.

Apple

The last UK order date for Apple customers is Friday, December 22.

But Apple said that if If the order by date has passed, you can still shop online for in-stock items with Apple Pickup or two-hour delivery from your local Apple Store.

You can find your local Apple Store by using the store locator tool on the retailer’s website.

Argos

Argos customers will be able to order up to 1pm on Christmas Eve for same-day fast track delivery before 6pm.

The last day to order for standard delivery is Tuesday, December 19.

Shoppers can also order through click-and-collect up until Sunday, December 24.

But shoppers are being urged to check their local shop’s opening times and be aware that their item may not be in stock.

All delivery slots are booked on a first come, first served basis.

Fast track same day delivery costs £5.95, while fast track and standard delivery costs from £3.95.

ASOS

ASOS customers will be December 20, for orders placed with UK next day delivery.

ASOS Premier customers receive free next day delivery all year round, for an annual subscription of £9.95 when you spend a minimum of £15 on the site.

All other customers will need to pay £5.95 for next day Delivery.

Asda George

Supermarket Asda is offering next-day delivery up until Friday, December 22.

For standard delivery, the cut-off date is Friday, December 15, and for click and collect, it’s Thursday, December 21.

Next day delivery costs £5, while standard delivery costs £3.50 and click and collect services are free.

Currys

Currys has a range of options for guaranteed Christmas delivery.

Customers who want free delivery will have to get their orders in by December 18 and spend more than £40 to get the item before the big day.

Standard delivery on items under £40 cost £3.99.

Meanwhile, next day delivery will set you back £5.99.

Plus shoppers can collect in-store up until 1pm on Christmas Eve.

Disney

The Christmas cut-off dates for Disney are December 15 for standard UK delivery.

The retailer isn’t currently offering an express delivery service.

Standard delivery costs up to £5.99 for overs under £19.99, £3.99 for orders between £20 and £49.99 and the service is free for orders over £50.

John Lewis

John Lewis has confirmed the final date for standard delivery orders is December 19 for delivery by the end of Christmas Eve.

Next day delivery and Christmas Eve orders can be placed by December 22.

Standard delivery is free on orders over £50 while next day delivery costs £7.50.

Marks & Spencer

M&S customers can order using click & collect or next day delivery up until Saturday, December 23 for arrival by Christmas.

Standard deliveries will need to be ordered by Sunday, December 17 if you want to make sure they arrive in time.

Game

Game customers will need to place orders by December 22.

Standard delivery delivery costs £4.99 and express delivery is £7.99 per order.

New Look

New Look will be taking next-day delivery orders right up until 8pm on December 21 for £5.99.

Meanwhile, standard deliveries will need to be placed by December 17 for delivery on December 22.

Standard delivery costs £2.99.

Click and collect orders can be placed up to 10pm on December 21 and will need to be collected by December 23.

Next

The last date for Next shoppers place their order online is Thursday, December 22 for delivery before Christmas

But the last date to place your order online is Friday, December 23 by midday for collection in store on Christmas Eve.

Smyths

Toy shop Smyths said customers have until 5pm on Wednesday, December 19 for guaranteed delivery before Christmas Day.

Standard delivery is free for orders over £20 while express delivery is £1.99 for all orders over £20.
