A HEATING expert has revealed a great hack that will keep you toastie in just just £1.
It is a great tip for this winter season to keep your home warm and cosy without your energy bills going up.
ESS Heating specialist Catherine Storer shared a DIY hack that will heat up your room more efficiently and without using thermostats or radiators for prolonged periods.
She suggested people to use radiator reflector foils that redirect heat in the room for a longer time.
Radiator foils, much like normal kitchen foils but better, can reflect most of the heat output from your radiator – and spread it evenly across the room.
And because the heat is evenly reflected back to the room, it helps eliminate cold spots that generally get missed by conventional heating methods.
This keeps the house warm even when you kill the switch of your room heater.
Catherine said: ” Reflector foil reflects up to 95 per cent of the heat into the room rather than letting the walls absorb it.
“This material is more effective at redirecting heat than standard kitchen foil.
“Its reflective surface is designed to withstand the continuous heat output from radiators, ensuring durability and long-term effectiveness.”
“They are also compatible with different heating systems. They are particularly beneficial in rooms with solid walls, reflecting heat back into the room and thereby improving warmth.
“However, their benefits are not limited to these scenarios; they are also effective in rooms with insulated or cavity walls.”
While being effective, radiator reflector foils are also extremely cost-effective.
The product sells online for around £5 per 10 metres.
But a single room will only need a cut-off piece from the foil roll, which could effectively cost even less than £1.
Meanwhile, another helpful influencer has shared his simple hacks for keeping your place toasty without your energy use rocketing.
Noah Da Boa is a lifestyle influencer who regularly shares informative clips about everything from holidaying to side hustles with his 1.8 million TikTok followers on his account @NoahXBoa.
And in a recent video, he shared three simple ways you can keep your house as snug as possible now the weather has taken a turn.
His first clever recommendation is to “move your sofa and any objects away from the radiator”.
While it’s natural to want to sit as close as you can to your heater, placing your sofa too close can mean the hot air is absorbed, while moving it a few inches away will allow the warm air to “circulate freely around your room”.
