Nearly a week after the recall election trying to unseat him, Temecula school board President Joseph Komrosky continues to trail Monday, June 10.

He is 209 votes shy of avoiding being ousted from the Temecula Valley Unified School District board, the latest results show.

As of the Friday night, June 7, count — the last tally before Monday — he was 214 votes behind.

Results posted Monday evening show that yes votes on the recall comprise 51.08% of those counted, while 48.92% of ballots so far are opposed to the recall. The turnout is 44.9%.

There are 115 vote-by-mail ballots and two conditional ballots still to be counted, the Riverside County Registrar of Voters stated on its website.

Mail ballots postmarked on or before Election Day, which was Tuesday, June 4, must be received by Tuesday, June 11.

The next update is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 11.

Komrosky, a Christian conservative who was elected in November 2022 to represent Trustee Area 4, was targeted by foes who say his words and actions are divisive and his agenda too extreme.
