Jio launches true 5G in Assam


Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday launched Jio True 5G services in the state. Along with the True 5G services, Jio launched True 5G-Powered Wi-Fi services at the Maa Kamakhya Temple complex.

Among the multiple advantages of True 5G, healthcare was chosen as the sector for a demo. Sarma said, “I believe True 5G has the power to democratize the healthcare infrastructure across the varied geography of Assam.

The Assam government is fully committed to aiding the speedy roll-out of 5G services in the state, he added. Apart from existing investments of Rs 9,500 crores, Jio is additionally investing over ₹2,500 crores to deploy True 5G network in Assam.

By December 2023, Jio True 5G services will be made available in every town and taluka of Assam. Beginning January 10, Jio users in Guwahati and seven additional cities in four states: Karnataka (Hubli-Dharwad, Mangalore, Belgaum), Kerala (Chertala), Telangana (Warangal, Karimnagar), and Maharashtra (Solapur) will be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer, which will provide them with Unlimited Data at speeds of up to 1 Gbps+ at no extra cost.
