Jeevan Pramaan Patra: These pensioners can submit annual life certificate from October 1



Super senior pensioners, or those who are 80 years of age or more, can now submit their Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan Patra), so that they will continue to receive their pensions. These pensioners have time from October 1 to November 30, 2023 to submit their annual life certificate for pension.

The procedure for senior citizens between the ages of 60 and 80 will begin on November 1, 2023.

The government’s Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners Scheme, or Jeevan Pramaan, aims to solve the issue of physically visiting the bank by digitising the entire life certificate acquisition process. DLC is generated for individual pensioners using his/her Aadhaar number and Biometrics.

Who can submit life certificate from October 1, 2023
According to the Office Memorandum dated September 29, “Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare’s OM No. 1/20/2018-P&PW(E) dated 18/7/2019 (copy enclosed) regarding provisions of submission of life certificate for super senior pensioners aged 80 years and above from lst October to every year. In view of the Digital Life Certificate through Face Authentication Technology, it is now possible that each and every citizen can submit Digital life certificate either from home using android smartphone or bank branch.”

What is Jeevan Pramaan

A biometrics-enabled digital service for pensioners is called Jeevan Pramaan. Pensioners from the central, state, or any other government agency are eligible to use this service.
Is it valid for life?
The Pramaan ID/Jeevan Pramaan is not valid for life. The validity period of the certificate is as per rules specified by the Pension Sanctioning Authority. Once the validity period is over a new JeevanPramaan Certificate i.e a new Pramaan Id needs to be obtained.

Who is eligible for Jeevan Pramaan i.e Digital Life Certificate ?

A pensioner whose Pension Sanctioning Authority (PSA) is onboarded on to JeevanPramaan is eligible for Jeevan Pramaan. A pensioner who is re-employed or re-married is not eligible to make JeevanPramaan i.e Digital Life Certificate.

Where can pensioners obtain a JeevanPramaan i.e Digital Life Certificate

You can obtain a DLC from
1. Various Citizen Service Centre (CSC ) located across India
2. Office of Pension Disbursing Agencies (PDA) such as Post Office, Banks, Treasury etc
3. It can also be generated from home/any location on a Windows PC/Laptop( ver 7 & above) or Android Mobile ( KitKat & above ).

How to submit digital life certificate

A pensioner can submit their yearly life certificate in six different methods. Pensioners have access to the Digital Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan), a digital service with biometric assistance. Rather than going to the disbursing agency’s office to provide a physical life certificate, they can generate DLC using the Aadhaar-enabled biometric authentication approach.

Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate
The government of India introduced “Jeevan Pramaan” on November 10th, 2014, a “Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate” for pensioners. Pensioners can use their Aadhaar number and other pension information related to their pension bank account to biometrically authenticate their life certificate.

Jeevan Pramaan Portal
Pensioners can electronically submit their life certificates through the Jeevan Pramaan Portal.

Face authentication
Pensioners can also submit Life Certificates via the UIDAI Aadhaar-based Face Authentication technology method.

Postman at home
In November 2020, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) and the Department of Posts jointly introduced the Doorstep Service for submission of the Digital Life Certificate via Postman.

Doorstep banking
The Alliance, which is made up of 12 public sector banks and offers “Doorstep Banking” to its customers in 100 major cities around the country, is another source for door-to-door banking services.
