Jaire Alexander suspended by Packers for Sunday game against Vikings. This is what happened

Jaire Alexander has been suspended by the Packers for Sunday’s game against the Vikings. This was because of his unusual actions before the game last week, leading to the disruption of the coin toss.

Why is Jaire Alexander suspended by the Packers?

Brian Gutekunst, the General Manager at Packers has announced that it has been decided by the Packers to put Jaire Alexander on suspension. In the previous week’s game against the Panthers, Alexander went to the field for the coin toss, despite not being announced as the team captain. He informed the referee that the Packers were willing to be on the defense side.
Gutekunst said that the decision to suspend a player is not very easy or a matter to be taken on a light note. As an organization, Packers expect everyone to put the team first. While it has faced disappointment because of this incident, it has also conversed with Jaire expecting him to learn from this. It seeks to welcome him back again next week since he is a valuable team member and will remain so in the future.

Alexander seemingly went to the midfield for a coin toss without getting permission from Matt LaFleur, the coach. Then he took the responsibility for the coin toss himself. The Packers desired to clarify that an action like that is not going to be allowed.

Alexander said that the Packers desired to be on defense instead of saying that the option was deferred by them. Referee Alex Kemp then asked him to issue a clarification.
