Apple is widely rumored to be bringing its first-ever periscope lens to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, allowing for up to double the optical zoom.
The introduction of a periscope camera lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max would see Apple compete with the growing number of smartphone manufacturers who are already bringing periscope capabilities to their devices, including Samsung with their Galaxy S22 Ultra that offers up to 10x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom.
Rumors and reports have so far suggested that Apple’s new periscope lens capabilities will be limited only to the largest 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max, with the feature expanding to both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max in 2024.
Respected industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo was first to suggest that Apple could make its new periscope camera capabilities exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max late last year.
