iPhone 15 pre-orders at Vodafone, EE and Sky: what you need to know


The iPhone 15 is here after Apple announced a raft of new devices on September 12 during its Wonderlust event. 

Tim Cook unveiled the new iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max to the world as it touted new features, faster tech for gaming including its new A16 Bionic and A17 Pro chips. Pre orders will begin on Friday 15 September and devices will be in stores next week.

And with the new iPhone on its way, that means many Apple lovers will be looking to upgrade their old phones as soon as possible. 

But depending on how you pay or have paid for your phone, you might be able to upgrade just in time to get yourself a brand-new phone.

 But if you want to buy outright, Apple has it’s own upgrade program which we will get into more detail about below.

Alternatively, if you’re in the last 100 days of your contract, you can get the latest device with no early upgrade fee if your new plan is higher than your current plan. 

If you have taken out a device credit agreement, you can upgrade your phone whenever you like from day 15 of a new plan, you just need to pay off the remaining balance of the device.    

You can also ring 191 from your Vodafone phone to speak to an agent to see if you can upgrade. Vodafone uses its EVO plans to allow you to be flexible when you upgrade your phone.

Your total monthly cost is split into two separate contracts, which means two monthly Direct Debits. Your Phone Plan covers the cost of the phone itself, and your Airtime Plan covers the cost of your data, minutes and texts each month

You can also swap your old phone for a new one lets you keep up with the latest tech by swapping your old device for a new one before the end of your contract. 

All you have to do according to Sky is:

  1. Just choose the device you want to upgrade to.
  2. Once you’ve got it, send your old one back to Sky.
  3. It will give you a value for it to put towards paying off the remaining amount on your credit agreement.

Thanks to the iPhone upgrade program, you no longer need to wait for your network contract to end to change your phone. After 11 payments, you’re eligible to upgrade to a new iPhone.
