As per reports, the iOS 16.4 will let Safari web apps on your homescreen send you push notifications. The new update adds opt-in support for web-based push notification which will allow users to receive notifications from websites through browser Safari.
New Emoji
The upcoming iOS update will also bring in a bunch of new emoji that will be introduced with Unicode 15.0. The list of new emojis includes shaking face, heart emoji in three new colour options – grey, baby blue and baby pink, a moose, a jellyfish, a donkey and more.
Beta Updates Option
Apple’s iOS 16.4 will bring in a new Beta Updates menu in the Settings app under the Software Update category in the General folder. This new feature will allow members of Apple’s Developer Program to access developer betas of iOS without installing a configuration profile from the Apple Developer website. You need to be signed into the same Apple ID used to enrol in Apple’s Developer Program for the developer beta option to appear on your iPhone.
New Home App Architecture
The much-awaited iOS 16.4 update will bring in Apple’s revamped Home app architecture. The feature was initially launched with iOS 16.2 but Apple recalled the update due to bugs.
The new architecture will improve the Home app’s reliability, performance and efficiency.
Podcasts App Upgrade
The upcoming software update by Apple will also introduce a bunch of new features in the tech giant’s Podcasts app across the CarPlay and iPhone. As per reports, there will be a new Channels menu in the podcasts that will showcase all the podcast channels in one place on your device, meanwhile the Up Next queue includes those episodes that user has saved in their Library.
