Investors favourite 10 equity funds in 2023



Investors were in love with some equity mutual funds in 2023. ETMutualFunds analysed the asset under management trend for 523 equity schemes and zeroed in on 10 schemes that have attracted maximum money in 2023. We looked at the assets managed by these schemes in January and November and calculated the change in AUM.

Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund, the largest scheme in the flexi cap category based on assets managed, witnessed the highest increase in asset base in 2023. The scheme witnessed an increase of Rs 18,949.04 crore in AUM in 2023.


Nippon India Small Cap Fund, the largest scheme in the small cap category based on assets managed, witnessed an increase of Rs 17,262.34 crore in 2023.

HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund, the largest scheme in the balanced advantage or dynamic asset allocation category based on assets managed, saw an increase of Rs 17,225.83 crore in asset base.

HDFC Mid-Cap Opportunities Fund witnessed an increase of Rs 16,522.45 crore in AUM. The scheme is the largest scheme in the mid cap category based on assets managed. The scheme manages assets of Rs 52,137.70 crore.

Four schemes from HDFC Mutual Fund featured on the above list. Two schemes from SBI Mutual Fund and one scheme from ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, Kotak Mutual Fund, Nippon India Mutual Fund, and PPFAS Mutual Fund remained investors’ favourite in 2023.

We considered equity and equity oriented categories such as large cap, mid cap, small cap, large & mid cap, flexi cap, multi cap, focused fund, ELSS, value, contra, sectoral/thematic funds, aggressive hybrid, arbitrage, balanced advantage & dynamic asset allocation, equity savings fund categories for the analysis.

Out of equity schemes considered for analysis, 450 schemes have witnessed an increase in their asset base. From the list of 450 schemes, ETMutualFunds considered the top 10 schemes. These schemes witnessed the highest increase in asset base from January to November (last available data).
