‘I spent £47 while shopping at a charity shop but resold my haul for £470!’

One woman is sharing how she was able to make over £470 thanks to buying items in a charity shop.

Thrifting and reselling has become a popular trend on social media with content creators documenting their savings on platforms like TikTok using this side hustle.

One such creator is The Nashville Blonde, a professional reseller of items from stores such as Goodwill.

As it stands, she currently has over 133,000 followers and last year broke down in a video how she was able to turn £47 worth of spending at Goodwill into over $600 (£470) in her pocket.

She explained: “Who wants to see what I got at Goodwill? It’s amazing, I was in Atlanta over Christmas and went to a Goodwill down there.

“I spent 20 minutes in the store. I spent just under $60 (£47.15) and I bet I have $600 (£471.47) of stuff to resell. I’m not even kidding.

“First up, gorgeous Ralph Lauren men’s seersucker blazer in perfect condition. I’ll probably get about $75 (£58.93) for this.

“An L.L. Bean field coat for men with a corduroy on it, it’s brand new. This will easily go for over $100 (£78.58).”

The content creator paid $6 (£4.71) for the Ralph Lauren blazer and only $7 (£5.50) for the field coat while shopping at the second-hand store.

Among the other clothing items she found were 10 pairs of Bombas socks that were 59 cents (£0.59) a piece which she believes will sell quickly.

Outside of clothes, The Nashville Blonde highlighted how stuffed animals also have a high resale value.

A toy based on the green dinosaur from Toy Story sold at Goodwill for $4 (£3.14) but the thrift store shopper believes it could sell again for as high as $25 (£19.64).

Similarly, she bought a stuffed seal toy for $2 (£1.57) but is confident it will eventually resell for around $15 (£11.79)

Furthermore, the TikTokker found baseball caps for as little as $2 (£1.57) but resold for 10 times the price.

Other items The Nashville Blond purchased included a $10 Italian leather purse which resold for $115 and a $4 painting from an artist named Kelly Ray Roberts that sells online for $45.
