‘I slashed my supermarket shop bill to less than £8 thanks to couponing – you can too!'

One woman is sharing how she was able to reduce a shopping bill worth the equivalent of around £20 to less than £8 thanks to coupons.

Platforms such as TikTok have been useful tools in helping people understand how they can start couponing.

Content creators like Alysia are documenting their shopping hauls and the savings they are able to make.

During one shopping spree at US-based outled Dollar General, she was able to slash her bill by more than half.

In a recent video, Alysia highlighted how other shoppers can follow in her footsteps by being aware of deals on certain days.

It should be noted that the couponer was able to make these savings thanks to these deals being applicable for August 19.

However, fellow savvy shoppers are encouraged to look out for similar concessions that could be introduced in similar stores in their local area.

In the minute-long video, Alysa broke down all the essential household items she was able to purchase for such a small amount

The content creator shared: “Here is a $10 (£7.86) challenge: Dollar General edition. I’m going to show you everything you can get for less than $10.

“The first thing you are going to pick up is a $5 (£3.93) of toilet paper, it’s actually on sale for $4.75 (£3.73).”

As well as this, Alysa was able to pick up detergent for $3.75 (£2.95) and Febreeze car plug for $4.50 (£3.54).

Furthermore, she purchased Always Discreet Liners for $6.50 (£5.11) and a big disposable razor for $4.32).

Alysa added: “All these items are going to total you $25 (£20) before digital coupons. But, you are going to go on your store app and click on this ‘$5 off $25’.

“You are also going to click on the ‘Save $2.30’ on the Febreeze Car Air digital but don’t click on any $1.50 off any Febreeze product.”

Among the other coupons she was able to apply to her haul was a $1.25 (£0.98) off the detergent she bought, as well as $4 (£3.14) off Always products.

With all these discounts applied, Alysa only had to pay $7.45 (£5.86) at the register plus tax for her shop.
