I sell the UK’s ‘cheapest Christmas presents’ – shoppers go wild for my bargains which are 85% cheaper than major stores

THE owner of the UK’s “cheapest shop” loved by early Christmas shoppers says its goodies cost you 85 per cent less than in major stores.

A little-known outlet in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, attracts shoppers with a nose for a deal when stocking up on festive supplies and gifts.

And The Sun revealed the hefty savings can be found at WD Bargains, based in an industrial unit on the town’s fringes.

It offers products – at a fraction of their regular retail price – by high-end brands such as Armani, Hugo Boss, Jo Malone and Ted Baker.

Snips to be snapped up included £70 Ralph Lauren scented candles for just £10 instead – a whopping 85% saving.

Meanwhile, Ted Baker diffusers are available for a tenner too – £24 down on what would be charged elsewhere.

WD Bargains owner Karl Darley said: “People come from miles away because we’re so cheap.

“If we spot something that we can sell cheaper than the supermarkets, then we will buy it.”

Customers cashing in included NHS worker Annette Talbot, 50, and 12-year-old daughter who bought 36 Coca-Cola cans for £10 – whereas Iceland offered 24 for £13.

Annette also bought a 7.5kg bag of James Wellbeloved dog food for a third of its £35.99 cost from Pets at Home.

She told of spending £80 on “food and drink, gifts and pet food”, whereas elsewhere the same amount would go “just on the gifts”.

WD Bargains, known to locals as Bee’s Bargains as well, has also been offering three packs of Guylian Belgian chocolates for £10 – instead of the usual £6.50 for just one – and £30 Laura Ashley pillows for a fiver.

Another mum, 37-year-old Lindsay French, opted for 24 packs of Pipers crisps for £7, two £2.50 biscuit boxes and a bottle of branded vodka for £13.

She said: “We love it here – it’s cheap and there’s everything you could want in one place.

“It means we can have a fun Christmas and not break the bank.”
