I refused to pay rent forever so I converted a shed into a tiny home – it only cost me £500 & fans love the final result

A WOMAN has converted her shed into a tiny home as she “refused” to pay rent for the rest of her life.

Sarah, who goes by simplysarah1908 on TikTok, shared a pair of videos explaining how she undertook the unusual project.

In the clips, she revealed that she decided to make the leap with the little shed so she could “be debt free by 25″ rather than having to pay rent or a mortgage each month.

The caption on one read: “Refused to pay rent the rest of my life so I decided to convert a shed into a tiny home.”

Sarah then went on to show the long process of turning a long, thin building into a habitable home.

She said that she tried to do most of the work herself at first, even sharing snaps of her and her loved ones renovating the shed.

However, she admitted that “things got hard”, forcing her to “hire some help”.

The video was composed of a series of photos showing the long process of bringing the shed up to scratch.

It opened on the shed being carried on the back of a truck to Sarah’s plot of land, before photos from inside showed the extensive work done to it.

This included insulating it, putting in new walls, painting, plastering and wiring the little house.

Sarah could be seen getting her hands dirty alongside the contractors she employed when the load became too great.

In the second video, she gave a much-requested tour of the nearly finished home.

It was almost unrecognisable from the pictures from the beginning of its makeover.

There appears to be a functioning bathroom and the beginnings of a closet, thought there’s still a good bit to be done, including furnishing the house and fitting the kitchen.

Commenters went wild for the idea, with one writing: “I want to do this.”

Another asked: “Where can I get one?”

Meanwhile a third added: “Smart girl.”

Responding to some of the comments herself, Sarah called the unusual living arrangement the “best way to save”.

However, she isn’t the only one to have the idea.

In February, The Sun Online reported on a couple who had been living in a converted shed for 11 years, while earlier this month we revealed how one woman even managed to fit a secret garden into her conversion.

Another woman didn’t use the shed as a neat way to save, but instead as a money generator, renting it out as a stylish tiny home for £862 a month.
