'I made over £50 just watching adverts online': Side hustle cashes out 'in seconds'

Heidi Keefe has made £50 to supplement her income at university simply by watching adverts online.

Whilst scrolling on TikTok, the student saw a video saying that her attention was being sold to advertisers by social media apps, which is how they make billions in revenue and why are designed to be so addictive.

After doing some research, she downloaded an app called Zedosh which promised to show her video ads from brands that are relevant to where she spends her money whilst also putting real cash straight into her bank account.

After checking the app was regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, Ms Keefe connected one her of bank cards to the app to share her spending data in order to participate.

Speaking on her experience, she said: “Zedosh is the first app that’s connected to the Attention Exchange’s ad platform that calculates your interests based on how you spend your money, instead of what you browse.

“I normally see hundreds of ads every day that just annoy me and certainly don’t pay me, so this just seemed a no-brainer! What I love is that I’m totally in control.

“I choose when I watch the ads, I choose the data that’s used to target me and it’s in a specific tab within the app, so the rest of the functionality isn’t constantly interrupted by ads I don’t want to see.

“The first ads I saw were mostly from challenger brands that I hadn’t previously heard from and probably wouldn’t have if they hadn’t chosen this new, fairer way to get hold of my attention.”
