SHOPPERS have been going crazy for these Iceland dupes that are half the price of the originals.
Iceland has been promoting its Crispy Pancakes range and shoppers have hailed them for being “just as good as the originals”.
The original brand, Findus Crispy Pancakes, had been on sale since 1958, and reached peak popularity in the 70s and 80s.
Although the supermarket staple was bought out by BirdsEye a few years ago, the fillings were changed entirely and the Pancakes became 75p more expensive.
Birds Eye claimed to be using more “premium” ingredients for the new-style crispy pancakes, which now come in mozzarella, tomato and mozzarella, and ham and mozzarella flavours.
But customers weren’t satisfied, and have been complaining that the BirdsEye version just isn’t the same.
Now, thanks to Iceland, buyers can purchase the old-school fan-favourite for a bargain.
The BirdsEye Crispy Pancakes are £2.20 in Iceland, while their own brand dupe is just a quid.
And shoppers have been going crazy for them.
One savvy saver spotted the product and quickly took to Facebook to share the good news.
Others quickly responded with their
Sarah Grubb said: “Mince ones are lovely just as good as original and great for the price.”
Alexi Brooks simply said: “Absolutely love these.”
While Shelley Blair Shell even went as far to say: “They’re nicer than findus”
Iceland shoppers have been going wild for other dupes recently added in stores – like their Snacksters range.
These are their McDonalds knockoff.
You can get an Iceland Chicken Stack for just £1.80, which is nearly 70% cheaper than the original Chicken Big Mac.
Or the Iceland 20 chicken nuggets for £3.50, £2.10 cheaper than the original McDonald’s 20 chicken nuggets.
And just last year, the supermarket unveiled their Nando’s dupes.
The range featured peri peri chicken breasts, chicken wings and chicken thighs all for £4.
At the time, Iceland had an offer on where you could buy three for £10.
