The Exter will be positioned below the Venue, which is currently the company’s entry level SUV. It will be launched in the second half of the year.
“Hyundai Exter is the 8th model in our line-up with a SUV body style and we are confident that this new member to our family will provide further fillip to our growth in SUV sales,” Hyundai Motor India Ltd COO Tarun Garg said.
Here are some of the latest model’s new features,
- The model is based on the same platform that underpins the Hyundai Aura and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
- The model sports a 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine, which it shares with the other models.
- The engine develops 83PS of maximum power and 113.8Nm of peak torque.
- The transmission options include 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT.
- The 1.2-litre Kappa unit already has a bi-fuel (petrol + CNG) choice.
- Hyundai might offer a CNG option with the Exter 2023.
Like other Hyundai SUVs, the Exter is expected to be loaded with class-leading features as well. It might get LED headlights and taillights, an electric sunroof, touchscreen infotainment, automatic climate control and a wireless charger.
The Hyundai Exter 2023 price is expected to be between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Its rival, the Tata Punch, is priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9.47 lakh (ex-showroom).
This all-new SUV will enable customers with smart mobility experiences, targeting Gen Z customers, the company said.
